RonaldTollefsonAll six felony criminal sexual conduct charges against Hinckley resident Ronald Tollefson have been dropped.  Papers filed in Pine County Court on April, 9th dismissed the four first degree and two second degree counts.

Tollefson, 46, was accused of having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.  In December, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Tollefson lawyer, Mark Benjamin, told Red Rock Radio that the defense hired an independent investigator for the case and their findings were given to the Pine County Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office.  Benjamin would not comment on whether or not these findings played a role in the dismissal of the case.

“I don’t anticipate there would be any more proceedings,” said Benjamin.  “[The case] has been investigated as much as it can.”

The Pine County Attorney’s Office refused to comment on why the case was dismissed.
