Jones Doing “Great”; Could Return Home This Week
Good news for local seven-year-old Joshua Jones. Jones has been at the University of Minnesota Hospital since January 20th battling a rare disorder which his body’s immune system attacks his nerves. He is paralyzed from the waist down and in his right arm and is losing function of his left arm. But, according to posts by his family on the website caringbridge.org, Josh is now doing great – so great, that there is chance he could return home on Friday.
According to the website, a discharge conference is scheduled for Wednesday in which his family will meet with all the doctors, therapists, nurses and his teacher present along with his teacher and school on the phone to go over what to expect when he goes home.
Jones is said to be playing Nintendo WII and riding scooters.
In February, a benefit fundraiser was held at the Time Out Sports Bar and Grill in Rock Creek.
