2nd Annual Restoration Project Scheduled for April 10th
HINCKLEY, Minn. – On Saturday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Grand National Golf Course will become a stage for building mallard nests. The 2nd annual event’s goal is to build and install 25 mallard nests across the golf course.
Local DNR conservation officers will be on site to assist families and children with nest building and installation. Everyone who completes a nest will receive a certificate and a photo, and snacks will be provided.
There is no charge to attend the event; families with kids of all ages are welcome. After the Mallard nests are built, volunteers will install them across the golf course to encourage Mallards to nest and be a long-term reminder of the community’s commitment to the natural habitat.
All tools and supplies will be provided, however, supplies are limited to 25 nests. Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Adult supervision is required for children under 18 years old.
