The Pine City High School Concert Band and Concert Choir traveled to Milaca Tuesday to take part in Section Music Contest. The ensembles are judge by a panel of three on such qualities as blend, rhythm, and tone quality and assigned ratings of Fair, Good, Excellent, or Superior.

Both the Band and Choir received a ‘superior’ rating from all three judges, which is the highest possible rating.

The choir is made up of 76 students and 78 perform in the band.

Congratulations to the choir and band of PCHS! All PC residents should know what an outstanding job the PCHS music department does! The choirs and bands of this high school are definitely the exception and not the norm! Did you know people from neighboring towns come to watch these concerts just for the pure pleasure of it, not because they have kids in the concert? The kids of PC are very lucky and blessed to have such great music and band instructors!

These kids continue on after high school performing as well. We just traveled 5 1/2 hours to watch 4 Pine City graduates in concert at thier college in Iowa. It was FANTASTIC and very proud to see 4 Pine City students listed on the program.
