*Update* Library Fundraiser Draws Big Crowd; Over $7K Raised

Pine City Librarian Christy Koch believes the expansion project will begin sooner rather than later. Thursday at the Pizza Pub in Pine City, the library held a fundraiser to raise the remaining funds needed for the project to begin. Koch says she was more than encouraged with the turnout and participation.

The library needs to raise about $100,000 for the expansion, having raised over $300,000 since the effort began in November. Koch goes on to say that she is amazed at how quickly the funds have come in.

Koch says the library went around to the townships earlier this week and added that they responded well to donating in the near future.
Koch tells Red Rock Radio that as of Friday afternoon, the fundraiser pulled in $6,587.60. She said that does not include over $500 is auction items that have not been picked up.
