Wolf Loose from Forest Lake Wildlife Science Center

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 at 6:26 am

wolfSomeone broke into the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake Sunday night and pried open a wolf enclosure containing 3 female Mexican gray wolves. Two have been recovered, but one remains at large.

This action has put a critically endangered wolf at risk that is part of an on-going captive breeding and reintroduction effort.  The wolf weighs approximately 55-60 pounds, is quite shy and is not hand-raised. She is not the same kind of wolf that we have in MN, and she has never lived in the wild before, so she does not have experience.

Please notify the Wildlife Science Center @ 651-464-3993 if you have any sightings of her.
