[Gallery] Pawlenty Rides Through Pine County

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty made his way through the snowmobile trails of Pine County on Friday.  The Governor’s Ride was part of the the Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association’s Winter Rendezvous.  Pawlenty’s ride ended in Pine City at the American Legion.

The Hinckley-Pine City Flames are hosting the Rendezvous.  Flames President Bob Veitch says about 160 riders participated in the Friday morning ride.  He said Pawlenty was one of the faster riders.  Veitch joked that Pawlenty topped off at 49.9 mph, just below the 50 mph speed limit.

Veitch says the success of the Rendezvous Rides is due to the hard work of the various volunteers and organizations who helped host the events.

Pine City residents welcomed Governor Pawlenty to the city with a singing valentine.
