Authorities Seize Pit Bulls and 244 Marijuana Plants in Kanabec Co.

Marijuana plants and pit bulls were found during a drug bust Thursday in Kanabec County.

The North Central Drug Task Force assisted the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office in executing a search warrant at a residence in Grass Lake Township.  During the search, authorities seized 244 marijuana plants and firearms.  They also discovered 40 pit bulls on the property.

The Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office and the Humane Society have opened an investigation into the welfare of the dogs.

One adult male found at the residence was arrested.  He is due to be arraigned Friday in Kanabec County Court.
