Sentencing Friday for Bengston
One of two women charged in a September beating in Hinckley is scheduled for sentencing Friday in Pine County Court. Jayme Bengston, 20, pleaded guilty on November 2nd to fifth degree assault charges for her role in the attack of two women.
According to the criminal complaint, Bengston and Danelle Diver, 19, forced their way into a residence after a fight with two other women over money they were owed. The complaint states that Diver beat one of the two women with a baseball bat which resulted in the victim suffering head trauma, a laceration on her lip and face swelling.
Bengston allegedly attacked a second woman by punching her in the face and pulling her hair.
One of the victim’s children were at the residence at the time of the alleged attacks.
Authorities arrested Diver on Saturday. She is charged with three counts of first degree burglary, each charge carries a penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a $35,000 fine. She is also charged with second degree assault which is punishable by up to seven years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine.
