Local Church Raises $3,900 + for Haiti
Father David Forsman and the parishioners of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City are extending a helping hand to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
The church has raised $3,985.80 for Haiti, primarily during the Sunday collections.
The money will go to Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Father Forsman says CRS was one of the first responders to the disaster and they already had supplies in Haiti, prior to the earthquake.
Father Forsman says the church will accept donations for Haiti relief as long as people want to give. He says even with the many fundraisers taking place around the world, he still believes there is local enthusiasm to help.
