Bodin Pleads “Not Guilty” to Sexual Assault
Dustin Bodin, 36, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct. It’s alleged he had non-consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl in Pine City. If convicted, he could serve 15 -years in prison and pay a $30,000 fine.
A trial for Bodin is scheduled to begin March 8th in Pine County.
According to the criminal complaint, Bodin and the girl, now 16, developed a “relationship” over the summer and spent time together in Robinson Park in downtown Pine City. However, the girl tells police the two were not dating and it was not a physical relationship.
The complaint said one night while hanging out at the park, Bodin and the girl went back to his trailer. A witness told police Bodin told him that he and the girl were going to “smoke weed” and “drink.”
The alleged victim tells police that she and Bodin began drinking and he began taking off her leggings. She told him to stop, but he did not, and proceed to force her to have sexual intercourse.
A witness told police he saw Bodin and the girl engaging in sexual activity through the trailer window, according to the complaint. The witness said he knocked on the trailer door to interrupt.
The complaint states when Bodin and the girl came to the door, the witness said the girl looked “sad” and left immediately.
The witness also told police that Bodin admitted to having sex with the girl, but told the witness not to tell anyone.
