“One Gallon Challenge” Doubles Amount Raised for Haiti Victims

OneGallonChallengeOver $305 was raised during the WCMP/WXCX “One Gallon Challenge” at the Pine City v. Mora basketball game Thursday in Pine City.  The “Challenge” is a fundraiser to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.  So far, over $600 has been raised and will be donated to the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Red Cross, who will send the money to Haiti.  The final chance to donate is at Friday’s Pine City v. Aitkin basketball game.  Donations can also be dropped off before 5 p.m. at the WCMP/WXCX station in Pine City.

What is the “One Gallon Challenge?”

Two one-gallon milk jugs will be passed around during Friday’s Pine City v. Aitkin boys basketball game at Pine City High School.

ALL the money raised will be sent to the Twin Cities Red Cross Chapter who will send the funds directly to the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Donations can also be dropped of at the WCMP/WXCX studios at 15429 Pokegama Lake Road, Pine City, MN 55063

All checks can be made to “The American Red Cross. ” Write “Haiti” in the memo line.
