“One Gallon Challenge” Off to Fast Start

OneGallonChallengeOver $250 was raised during the first day of the WCMP/WXCX “One Gallon Challenge” fundraiser for the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Two one-gallon milk jugs were passed around during Tuesday’s Pine City v. Rush City girls basketball game at Pine City High School.  Fans, members of the band, and even referees chipped in, donating over $120.

Also, local resident dropped off $135 in donations at the WCMP/WXCX studios.

ALL the money raised will be sent to the Twin Cities Red Cross Chapter who will send the funds directly to the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The “One Gallon Challenge” will continue on Thursday and Friday during Pine City’s boys basketball games against Mora and Aitkin.  Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

Donations can also be dropped of at the WCMP/WXCX studios at 15429 Pokegama Lake Road, Pine City, MN 55063

All checks can be made to “The American Red Cross. ” Write “Haiti” in the memo line.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the “One Gallon Challenge” and to everyone who has made a donation to help the devastation in Haiti.
