*Update* Man Run Over By Truck in Burnett Co; Injuries “Serious”

A 41-year-old South St. Paul man was airlifted to the North Memorial Medical Center Tuesday morning after a man ran him over with a truck outside the Last Cast Tavern in Danbury, WI.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Department identifies the victim as Ckyle Gill, Sr.  Burnett County Sheriff Dean Roland tells Red Rock Radio that Gill suffered “very serious” injuries. Gill was transported by ambulance to the Siren airport and flown to the North Memorial Medical Center.

The suspect, Michael Lunsman, 42, from Danbury, is in custody in the Burnett County Jail.  According to sheriff’s officials, Lunsman fled the scene on foot immediately after the crash, but was arrested shortly before 2 a.m.

Roland says the Lunsman hit the Gill with the front of his truck and drove through the front of the bar.  One wall of the bar is “totally gone,” said Roland.

The incident has been referred to the Burnett County Attorney’s Office.  The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case.
