The Pine City Library is inching closer to reaching its funding goals needed for the expansion project.  The library needs to raise $200,000 to match a donation made by Peter Hudson.

Two months after unveiling the expansion plans, librarian Christy Koch says a $65,000 dent has been made towards the final goal.

The library recently received a pair of donations from local organizations.  The Pine City Walmart present the library with a $2,000 check at a ceremony, Friday, and the Pokegama Lake Association contributed $5,000.

Pokegama Lake Association President Chuck Royce talks about the why his organization felt the need to give.

The library will expand into current city hall when city hall completes its move to the old courthouse.  Pine City Administrator Don Howard said last week that he expects city hall to move into the courthouse by the end of February.
