Officers and Gentlemen: Deputies Honored for Saving Lives

Two Pine County Sheriff’s Deputies were honored during Tuesday’s Pine County board meeting for their work saving lives.

Pine County Sheriff Mark Mansavage presented the awards and talks about there significance.

Deputy Scott Grice was given a life-saving award for his work helping revive a man who collapsed at Jan and Gary’s restaurant in Sandstone in July.  Grice used one of the newly purchased defibrillators to bring the man back to life.  The man is said to be doing well.

Deputy Tom Myer was honored for successfully helping talk a woman out of jumping off an overpass on I-35 in April.

    Wow, He never told us of his rescue, but that’s just like Tom. He’ll tell you he was just doing his job. tom is my husband’s cousin. He and all of his brother’s are great men. So proud of them. Way to go Tom.
