Funeral Services Announced for Couple Killed in Crash
Michael and Robin Moris of Pine City will be laid to rest Friday, a week after they were killed in a three car crash near Pine City.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Moris’ were killed when their car was hit head-on by a Chevy truck driven by Scott Heckel, 44, of Pine City.
The State Patrol reports alcohol was detected in Heckel’s system at the time of the crash. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Services for Mike, 50, and Robin, 48, Moris will be held Friday, January 8th at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sandstone at 11 a.m. Visitation is an hour prior to the service.
They are survived by two sons Kevin Moris (Geralyn Noonan) of Duluth and Chris Moris of Pine City, as well as daughter Tanya (Shawn) Wigg of Willow River and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 7th from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone with a Rosary service at 7:45 p.m.

I’m not sure if this is the same Scott Heckel but it would be one heck of a coincidence – see link below.

This one has active warrants in Marshfield, WI for OWI and failure to appear and he too is 44 years old. In either case, the loser(s) need(s) some serious prison time.
I can’t even imagine the pain that this guy has caused for the Moris family for their losses. It’s senseless and horrible.
