THE TOYS ARE GONE
An Italian mother put her two small kids to bed then went down to put the toys out on Christmas eve. That’s when she found out someone had broken in and stolen them. Police found out about the theft while the mother was frantically making the rounds of all-night convenience stores looking for substitute gifts so her two daughters would have something under the tree when they woke up on Christmas morning. Thats when they conntacted the owner of a Turin toy store who opened the place at 4 am for her to shop.
STUFFED BEAR
The owner of Toy Town in Mission Viejo, CA. came to work to find a larged teddy bear. The 2-foot-tall blue teddy bear that felt “hard and crinkly.” The bear turned out to be stuffed with three large, vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.
DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE
With the New Years celebrations coming, A north Georgia funeral home is offering a free funeral to those planning to drink and drive this New Year’s Eve. Would-be party-goers have to sign a contract with the McGuire, Jennings and Miller Funeral Home in Rome stating they’re planning to booze it up. If they die in a New Year’s crash, the funeral home will give them a free burial.
MOOSE HEAD LAWSUIT
Raina Kumra is claiming negligence in her case against the Scandinavian-themed White Slab Palace in Manhatten. She’s while dining there a moose head fell off the wall and onto her head. Kumra says she suffered a concussion and other injuries. The Web designer adds the moose head weighs 150 pounds and even has 3-foot-wide antlers.
PREDICTING THE FUTURE IN VEGGIES
Jemima Packington of Pershore, England calls herself an ‘Asparamancer’. She predicts the future by throwing asparagus in the air and analyzing it upon landing. “Readings vary. Sometimes it will be absolutely instantaneous and other times it takes a little bit of interpretation,” she said. “Some leap out at you and others take a little bit longer.”
DON’T ASK – DON’T TELL
Compton, CA. police run their “gift for guns” exchange where they offer gift certificates for guns turned in “with no questions asked.” That was put to the test when a guy shows up with 58 firearms. Under the rules of the program, police did not ask the man where he got the weapons. He left with several thousand dollars worth of supermarket gift certificates.

A British woman , apparently tipsy, called the Brit equivilant of 911 to report her cat was giving her a headache. The woman said the situation was an emergency because the cat’s incessant meowing had “been going on for two hours now.”
A SPECIAL PLACE FOR LADIES
A shopping center in China has opened a parking lot that offers women drivers bigger-than-normal parking spaces to accommodate what it sees as their special needs. The women-only parking lot aimed to address women’s “strong sense of colour and different sense of distance.”
USELESS TRIVIA
Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians played “Auld Lang Syne” as a New Year’s song for the first time in 1929. It had long been the band’s theme song, but that night’s nationwide broadcast led people to identify the tune with New Year’s Eve!
The Beatles had their first show at Liverpool ’s Cavern Club in 1961. One year later, the band failed an audition for a recording contract with Decca records. Their manager was told, “Groups of guitars are on the way out!”
