Pine Tech Receives $1.2 Million
Pine Technical College is receiving $1.2 million for a Corrosion Training Simulation Program. The money is part of the defense spending bill approved Wednesday by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bill includes $10-million for seven Minnesota projects as well as a 3.4 percent increase in pay for all service members. It also provides an additional $29 billion to better fund health insurance for service members and their families.
Congressman Jim Oberstar said of the bill, “We are making good investments to ensure that the men and women in Minnesota’s National Guard have the right tools to do their jobs. I was happy to take their recommendations and include them in this important bill.”
