Cast Announced for One-Act Play
The defending Sub-Section One-Act Play Champions from Pine City will return to competition next month with an experienced and talented cast and crew. This year’s one act, “The Exonerated,” features a cast of nine and a crew of two, most of whom are veterans to the local stage.
Lead roles were awarded to Trevor Clune (Delbert), Aaron Nisley (Gary), Jorie Williamson (Sunny), and Greg Shelton (Kerry). Each of these students portrays a character who was wrongly accused and convicted of murder and later exonerated. All of the stories in “The Exonerated” are actual cases and told from the perspective of those who were wrongly accused. All four lead actors have appeared in PCHS productions, but Shelton and Nisley are making their first appearance in the competitive one-act format.
Supporting roles went to Holly Staples (appearing in her first PCHS production), Leah Schminkey, Emma Briski, Josh Palmer, and Andrew Cox. The crew for the show will be Christine Kraft and Nick Basta.
The play is written by Jessica Blank and Minnesota native Erik Jensen. The play was written in 2002 and received numerous awards upon its premiere.
The play will be presented to the public on Friday, January 29 at 7:30pm in the Elementary Auditorium. The public can also view the play during Sub-Section Festival on Saturday, January 30 here in Pine City.
