Remebering Beau: Dragons Honor Berglund
Former Pine City hockey player Beau Berglund, 25, passed away this summer after losing a decade long battle with brain cancer. Thursday, friends, family and former teammates gathered at the Pine City Civic Center to honor the former hockey captain.
Pine City hockey coach Tim Schlichting says it was an emotional evening.

Schlichting coached the junior varsity team when Berglund was making opponents tremble at the varsity ranks, but he says Berglund’s reputation as a fun-loving, passionate player was well known.

Thursday’s ceremony included a speech from former varsity hockey coach Dan Voce and the retiring of Berglund’s #32 jersey.
Berglund’s jersey will hang in the Civic Center and Schlichting says he hopes it serves as a reminder to his current players about how to play and live life the right way.
