Hockey Team to Honor Fallen Dragon
A life cut short will not be forgotten. Beau Berglund’s spirit and legacy will be honored Thursday when the Pine City/Rush City hockey team retires his jersey prior to the home opener against Duluth Central.
Berglund, 25, passed away on August 7th after a 10 year battle with brain cancer. He was known for his love of sports both outdoor and indoor, especially hockey.

Berglund was diagnosed with cancer when he was 15, but continued to get the most out of life. Schlichting said Berglund was always upbeat and always had a smile on his face. Schlichting adds he was loved by everyone.

A ceremony will take place at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday where former teammates, friends, and family will honor Berglund. Schlichting says his actual #32 jersey will be retired and a special plaque will be given to Berglund’s family.
