High Speed Chase Starts in Mora, Ends in Rollover

Pine and Kanabec County Sheriff’s Departments were involved in a high speed chase that started in Mora Saturday morning.  The 20-year-old suspect fled after Mora police tried to stop him for speeding.

The chase reached speeds of 100 miles-per-hour and at times the suspect drove the wrong way on I-35.  The pursuit came to an end when the suspect flipped his vehicle in Knife River.  The vehicle then caught fire.

The man was hospitalized but Stainbrook says its fortunate more people were not harmed.

The man, who was reportedly suicidal,  is expected to faces multiple charges for the chase.
