Local Church Helping Feed Hungry on Thanksgiving

Families are celebrating Thanksgiving, but, for some, the economy has made providing the traditional thanksgiving meal a challenge.  One local church is stepping up to make sure those that can not afford a meal on turkey day don’t go hungry.

Pastor Vicki VandgerVegt of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. The Church is hosting a free community thanksgiving dinner today. VandgerVegt says given the state of the economy she is anticipating a large turnout this year.

VandgerVegt expects roughly 40 volunteers and says that makes for a truly generous atmosphere.
