Pine Tech Thanks Donors
PINE CITY, Minn. – Friday, November 20, 2009 The Pine Technical College Foundation celebrated the 2009 Bridging the Dream Scholarship Campaign at the North West Company Fur Post.
The Foundation showed appreciation to its long time supporters for their generous levels of giving. Siren Lions Club was thanked for their support which now totals over $5,000. Additionally, the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce, Pine Eye Associates, PTC instructor Julie Shores and community member Kevin Hofstad were honored for their gifts which each total over $2,500.
The Pine Technical College Foundation wishes to thank The City of Pine City’s Voyageur Bottle Shop for co-sponsoring the event and providing a wine tasting event alongside the Foundation’s annual “Taste of Pine County.” This year Java Joe’s Bistro, Nelson’s Market, Grand Casino Hinckley, Wagonmasters and Wings North all sampled their cuisine. Congratulations to Wagonmasters, awarded the 2009 “People’s Choice” in a close vote.
Wal*mart, Wyoming Machine, Wings North, Grand Casino Hinckley, Voyageur Bottle Shop and Mary Jo Mettler donated items which raised over $2,700 in a raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will support The Foundation’s work in providing scholarships to Pine Technical College students in need.
