Picture 209The Pine City Library will unveil plans for its upcoming expansion project on Thursday at an open house.  However, the library is still in need of about $200,000 for the work and today Pine City and the library is asking area residents to make a donation through the website GiveMN.org to help with the cost.

The website is hosting Give to the Max  Day where it matches donations made until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18th.   The goal, according to GiveMN.org, is to raise as much money as possible for Minnesota charities in 24 hours.

Koch says this is a great way for the community to help put a dent into the cost of the library expansion.  A anonymous donor has promised the library a $200,000 donation as long as the community matches the contribution.  Koch says the website can help cover the cost.

The three non-profit groups that receive the most donations will earn an extra financial gift of either $5,000, $2,500, or $1,000.

All donations are tax deductible.  To donate go to GiveMN.org and type in Pine City Library.
