“Little Shop of Horrors” Opens Friday

Pine City High School will open the curtains Friday on its fall musical “Little Shop of Horrors.” The rock musical tells the story of young and humble Seymour Krelborn, who struggles to handle fame and fortune after growing a rare plant. The plant, by the way, only grows when fed blood! But the lure of success is too much for Seymour to stop feeding his prized possession and leaves him with multiple dilemmas.
Junior Josh Palmer plays the role of Seymour and talks about the challenges facing his character:

Seymour’s affection for the abnormally over-sized plant is sparked by his affinity for his co-worker Audrey. His is so smitten by her, that Seymour even names the plant after Audrey, calling in the Audrey Two.
But, Audrey faces her own issues. She is in an abusive relationship with her dentist boyfriend and is looking to find her true identity. Audrey is played by junior Christene Kraft, who describes how she was able to transform into the role.
