H1N1 Vaccination Clinic in Pine City
The first H1N1 vaccination clinic in Pine City took place Tuesday at the Pine County Courthouse. The clinic was only for select groups including pregnant women, young children, and children with serious medical conditions.
Deb MacDonald is the Nurse Manager for the WIC offices. She says getting these groups vaccinated is especially important because of how susceptible they are to the virus.
MacDonald said the turnout fluctuated throughout the day, but started with a rush when the clinic opened at 1 p.m. She said if there is leftover supply of the vaccine, Pine County Public Health plans on scheduling future clinics.
Patients are receiving either an injection or nasal form of the vaccine. MacDonald says people with respiratory issues will have to take in the injection.
H1n1 clinics were also held Tuesday in Grantsburg, a clinic for all school aged children will be held in Sandstone Thursday.
