North Branch Man Charged with Assault for Choking
A North Branch man faces a pair of felony assault charges for a incident last Friday in which a female victim reports he choked and threatened to kill her.
Chaske Weston Owen, 41, is charged with two counts of Felony Domestic Assault. According to the criminal complaint, Owen got into a fight with a woman on October 9th. It is alleged that he punched her in the face several times, choked her, and threatened to kill her. The report also states that Owen kicked the woman when she fell to the floor and that a minor child was at the residence during the alleged attack.
Owen has a criminal history including convictions of Felony Terroristic Threats and Gross Misdemeanor Domestic Assault in Hennepin County in 2000. He also was found guilty of Misdemeanor Domestic Assault in St. Louis County is 2004.
The two recent charges each carry a penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
