A fundraiser is scheduled for Friday for the family of Shane Bauer and two other Americans who are being detained in Iran. Bauer’s mother Cindy Hickey is from Pine City and his sisters graduated from Pine City High School.
The fundraiser will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Shakopee at 4 p.m. A silent auction, pig roast, and raffle will be held to help raise money for the cost of travel, awareness, and return of Bauer.
Bauer and the two others were detained on July 31st after crossing the Iranian border while hiking in Iraq. Vigils are being planned for Halloween weekend which would mark three months since the hikers detention.
