HEAVY SLEEPER
Firefighters were called to a house fire in Pittsburgh. They fought th e blaze for 2 hours and were unable to get into the house because of a collapsed roof during the fire to evacuate anyone. After fighting the blaze for 2 hours and putting it out they did a walk through and were “flabbergasted” to find a man who’d slept through the entire incident inside the home.
PIE AUCTION
1,090,000 frozen fruit pies are up for auction on EBAY. The pies were originally set for delivery for a supermarket chain, but the order was canceled, so they were put up for bid on EBAY. Bidding reached $680 Monday with nearly nine days left in the eBay auction. “This is quite possibly the most bizarre and largest thing we have ever had to sell,” said Luke Schonenberger, e-commerce manager for Pressplay. “Most of us think it will make people laugh and it will be a 10-day auction and we’re hoping for a bit of a bidding frenzy.”
HYPNOTIC BUST

Daniel Seddiqui of Skokie, ILL. has finished his quest to work in every state in the union. He worked as a dietician, which he enjoyed because he was helping people. He says being a cheese maker was the toughest job. “Try bending over the vats, shoveling out 40 pounds of cheese for two hours straight,” he said. He worked at a Vegas chapel and din’t like it. “People were getting married for 50 bucks at the drive-through. They’d ask me what date it was — on their own wedding day,” he said.

The Turbine Hall art gallery in London has unveiled a new piece if “art.” It’s vast metal container containing no light whatsoever. In other words, darkness. All light vanishes as soon as visitors venture a few feet inside. Polish artist Miroslaw Balka, said the darkness in his creation is a metaphor for life. “Sometimes you meet a person who seems strange to you at first but then you get to know them and they become your friend,” he said. This is the same art gallery that a few years ago had a huge crack in the floor, which was built to illustrate how issues such as racism and poverty were causing fractures in society.
NO SMOKING AT WORK
A Canadian truck driver was given a ticket by a police officer who saw the 48-year-old trucker driving on a highway in south-western Ontario with a cigarette in his mouth. The Smoke-Free Ontario Act, adopted in 2006, prohibits smoking in an enclosed workplace or enclosed public area, and that extends to work vehicles. The fine is $305, Canadian.

Michael Jackson and the Mario Brothers are among the top selling masks for Halloween thus far. As a side note one company says it’s already sold 15,000 Bernie Madoff masks. He’s the swindler serving 150 years for a gigantic Ponzi scheme that bilked investors out of millions.
