Woman Arrested for Crash; Boyfriend Ejected from Vehicle
A 21-year-old woman could face multiple charges for a single vehicle rollover accident Monday in Sandstone in which her boyfriend was ejected from the vehicle.
Mille Lacs Tribal Police are not releasing the names of the individuals until formal charges are filed.
Pine County Sheriff’s and Mille Lacs Tribal Police were dispatched to Grace Lake Road after receiving report of the accident. When officers arrived, a 31-year-old male told police that he was a passenger in the vehicle. Police said the man “displayed symptoms of being intoxicated.” His girlfriend is the alleged driver of the vehicle and police believe she was also intoxicated at the time.
According to a report from the Mille Lacs Tribal Police, the female driver told police she and her boyfriend were coming home from a party in Danbury, Wisconsin and were traveling on back roads to avoid law enforcement detection. The male complained of neck pain and told police he was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over. He was advised to seek medical attention, but refused.
The woman was arrested for Probable Cause D.U.I and Criminal Vehicular Operation. She was booked and later released. Formal charges are expected following the results of a toxicology test conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
