TODAY IS: Family Day – A Day To Eat Dinner With Your Children

I THOUGHT WE WERE MARRIED
Frank and Betty Skrout were married Oct. 6, 1960, at a Catholic church in Wilmor, PA. The couple found out they’re not legally married. Betty recently applied for pension benefits and was told she was still listed as single. That’s because the priest that married the couple never filed the papaerwork, those 49 years ago. The Skrouts are working with the church to fix the problem but for now are joking about it and say they have no plans to live apart.

GIMME THE MONEY
“1,784 billion, trillion dollars” that’s the amount Dalton Chiscolm wants from Bank Of America. He’s upset becase his checks were rejected because of incomplete routing numbers. The judge called the large number, “Incomprehensible.” Judge Denny Chin has experience with big numbers. He’s the judge who sentenced Bernard Madoff to a 150-year prison sentence for what the government called a $65 billion Ponzi scheme. Mr. Chiscolm has until October 23 to better explain the basis for his claims, or else see his complaint dismissed.

EATING CHAMP
Takeru Kobayashi is the burger eating champ once again. The Japanese competitive eater wolfed down 93 Krystal hamburgers in eight minutes yesterday, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to retake the burger crown. Reigning champ Joey Chestnut went down to defeat with just 81 burgers. He took home $20,000 and the burger eating belt.

OLD SKYDIVER
Jane Bockstruck was born Sept. 19th, 1907. The 92 year old New Hampshire woman celebrated her birthday the other day by jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 13,000 feet. Bockstruck says she’s been married seven times, has traveled the world and has had jobs ranging from hotel desk clerk to seamstress for the John Wayne movie “True Grit.”

GIMME THE DOG!
An Australian woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal a tiny chihuahua puppy at gunpoint. The woman showed up to buy the puppy, Diego, for $1500, but then pulled a pistol, demanding the puppy. She was subdued by people at the house, who included an off-duty policeman. She was later charged with armed robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon.

TIL FIRE DO WE PART!
Mary Carlson and David Paganini are NY Firefighters. The couple took their firfighting theme to their wedding. The couple exchanged vows in buckets atop tower ladders. Saturday’s nuptials in East Meadow included a line of fellow firefighters with crossed pike-poles and the bride in veil and fire boots.
