Bob Thompson Awarded Citizen of the Year

Family, friends, and colleagues gathered at the Northwest Company Fur Post, Monday, to honor a man who has helped shape Pine City.  Bob Thompson was awarded the 2009 Citizen of the Year.

Picture 1616Thompson is the owner of MINPACK and 4Staffing.  He is also an active member in the Pine City Lions and Pine Center for the Arts.  Thompson said he is honored to receive the recognition.

Chamber member and one of the organizers of the Citizen of the Year award, Todd Cummings,  says there is no criteria for selecting the award winner excpect that they must be a resident of Pine City.  He adds that Thompson’s work in the city makes him more than deserving of the honor.

Picture 1615Cummings credits Thompson’s businesses with keeping between 80-100 families afloat despite the tough economic times.  He adds that it is an honor for the Chamber to be part of such a ceremony.

Thompson is now invited to join the committee for selecting the 2010 Pine City Citizen of the Year.
