Pine City Senior Trip: Cheap on Cost not on Fun

Pine City seniors are preparing to enter the final year of high school.  With plenty on their plates before graduation it may be hard to look ahead to March, but when they do, what is waiting is the fun and sun of Orlando, Florida.  The Pine City School board approved final plans for the Senior Trip March 25th – April 2nd.

The total cost of the trip is $850, which students will help pay for through various fund raising events throughout the year, including magazine and cookie dough sales.

Students will hop aboard a bus for the second straight year.  North Central Transportation out of Milaca will provide the bus.  Senior Class Adviser Dihanna Fedder says traveling by bus is significantly cheaper than flying.  She added that students who went on last years senior trip commented that they enjoyed the bus because of the bonding experience.

In July, the board passed a motion that requires students who do not go on the trip to attend class during that week.  Last year, 35-percent of the senior class went on the trip. Fedder says she hopes for at least 40-percent this year.

The first payment of $100 is due October 1st.
