Buildings for the Future

School will look different for Pine City students when they head back to class on September 8th. That’s because the high school and elementary school are finishing up multi-million dollar renovation projects. The Pine City School board toured the projects Monday. Superintendent Darwin Bostic says he is pleased with the end results.

The elementary school added five new class rooms, a media center, gym, technology rooms, and special education rooms. The elementary project costs $7-million. Principal Dave Arola says the improvements are every bit worth the cost.

Bostic says because of the work done at the elementary school, it is unlikely the school will need any type of renovation over the next 25 years. The High School spent $6 million on the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit, new lights and new tiles, which Principal George Johnson says will improve the overall class room experience.
