Pine Co. Chief Deputy: Hells Angels Visit “Very Successful”
All the buzz surrounding the Hells Angels trip to Carlton County was all for naught, says Pine County Chief Deputy Steve Ovick. The motorcycle group, who has been linked to a history of violence, caused few disturbances this weekend. Some of the members made stops in Pine County, as they drove up Interstate-35.
Ovick says he is pleased with the work of the sheriff’s department making sure there were no problems.

Ovick estimates between 300-500 Hells Angels made their way to the rally in Carlton County. The Pine County Sheriff’s Department did add overtime hours as a preventative step to avoid any incidents. Ovick says some cars doubled up during the night hours.
The exact amount of overtime hours have not by tabulated yet, but Ovick says while the weekend did mean some added costs, it was worth it not to have to deal with any issues.

Many of the Hells Angels are now heading to a motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.
