Chase Suspect Still Missing, Braham Police No Longer “Actively” Searching

Friday, July 24th, 2009 at 7:37 am

Jesse Trevor Hamilton, 19, remains at large following a high speed chase Wednesday that started in Braham and ended near the Pine/Kanabec county line.

Braham Police Chief Robert Knowles tells Red Rock Radio that the department is no longer “actively” searching for Hamilton.  He says authorities are “waiting for him to pop up.”

According to the responding officer of the chase, Michael Vogel, if and when Hamilton is found, he faces a series of charges including fleeing police in a motor vehicle and on foot, open bottle of alcohol while driving, driving after revocation, and violating a harassment restraining order.

Police tried to stop the car Hamilton was driving because of reports there was a runaway teenager inside the vehicle.  Two minors in the vehicle were arrested when the car crashed after the chase.  Deputy Vogel talks about how the chase started:
