Pine County Fairgrounds Victim of Burglary/Vandalism

Monday, July 20th, 2009 at 7:19 am

The Pine County Fair is less than two weeks away, but suffered a setback this weekend.  Vandals graffitied parts of the fairgrounds and burglars broke into the fair office.  Fair Board President Dick Doenz learned of the graffiti Friday and says the burglary occurred early Saturday morning.  Vulgar language was written with the graffi.  It is now cleaned up and Doenz says nothing major was stolen, but adds security is keeping a closer eye on the fairgrounds.

The fair starts Wednesday, July 29th and runs through Sunday, August 1st.  This is the 117th year for the fair in Pine County.   Doenz says the weekend crimes will not effect the fair experience.  He is anticipating another great year.
