Pine County 4-H Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Announced
Pine County 4-H would like to invite the public to the 2009 Pine County 4-H Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction on Saturday, August 1, at 1:00 p.m., at the Pine County Fairgrounds Livestock Show Arena.
4-Her’s that have received blue ribbons in the beef, swine, poultry, rabbit and sheep projects will be auctioning off their ribbons and/or animals. All animals that are up for auction will be stated prior to the beginning of the auction in the show program. Animals that are sold at the auction will be processed at Braham Food Locker, unless the buyer makes other arrangements. After the auction the youth will then compete in the carcass contest the following week.
Pine County 4-H livestock members have been working intensely to raise quality animals to bring to the fair. The Auction is the finale of a youth’s long, hard work of raising and caring for their livestock projects. The auction helps youth learn business skills, responsibility, teamwork, wise decision making and numerous other life skills.
Come early on the day of the auction to look through the barns and view the animals! All auction animals will be indentified with a sign above their pen.
