Vikings Coming to Hinckley for Ride for Life
HINCKLEY, Minn. – Thousands of motorcyclists will hit the open road on Saturday, July 18, as part of the 15th annual Vikings’ Ride for Life event, which benefits the Vikings Children’s Fund. The charitable fund donates money to various children’s charities in Minnesota .
Current Vikings players, alumni and cheerleaders will send riders off from the main group ride at the Blue Heron Grill in Hugo at 12:15 p.m. Bikers will ride in a single lane to the Hinckley Amphitheater, where the festivities are expected to begin after the first riders arrive around 1:30 p.m. Vikings personnel, cheerleaders and alumni will greet the riders as they file into the parking lot for a day of food, beverages, and live entertainment by Zed Leppelin.
Riders are welcome to ride on their own and join the welcome party at Hinckley ’s Amphitheater. There are also new starting options this year: Borderline Bar and Grill in Lakeland Shores , Babe’s Bar and Grill in Lakeville, the Junction Bar and Grill in Minneapolis , and Fat Boy’s Bar and Grill in East Bethel .
Participants will have the opportunity to win $30,000 in cash and prizes, including Vikings season tickets, a trip to Cancun , autographed items, a 2009 Yamaha Star Motorcycle, and $10,000 in cash.
Registration is $15 per bike, which includes a prize ticket, parking voucher in a secured lot, event admission, and autographs. Riders who register by July 10 will be eligible for a bonus prize.
