Health Fair @ Burnett Medical Center
The Burnett Medical Center hosted a health fair this weekend. Over 20 booths were on hand to pass out information and demonstrate some of the technologies used at the center. CEO Gordy Lewis says the focus of the health fair was family fun and knowledge.
This is the first time the health fair was held at the Medical Ccenter. It moved from its usual location in Siren. Health and Information Manager, Tamra White, says she hopes this is the first of many health fairs at the new location in Grantsburg.
Those in attendance were able to get a first hand look at the North Memorial helicopter that the Medical Center uses for emergency calls. The helicopter costs roughly $2.5 million, according to pilot Bob Steinbrunn. It is able to transport one patient at a time.
