Pine City Horizons Program Teaming Up for Success

The Horizons group in Pine City continues its pursuit to end poverty in the city.  Members of the community based organization came together, Thursday, at the Pizza Pub in downtown Pine City.

The group discussed forming leadership teams focused on achieving the organizations five primary goals.  The goals are building inclusive communities, building individual, family and community assets, help people meet urgent needs, create more and better local jobs, and focus on early childhood education.

Horizons Community Coordinator, Cyndy Cohen, says a collective effort and dedication will go a long way in meeting these goals.

The Pine City Horizons program does still have some work to do.  They need over 150 signatures in support of the effort by the end of August to meet the organizations participation goals to continue moving forward.  The good news is this number is down from nearly 450 in May.  If the group does receive the necessary signatures, they are eligible for a $10,000 grant to fight community poverty.
