County Pursuing $800K for CSAH 51
The Pine County board is pursuing $800,000 for the rehabilitation of County State Aid Highway 51 in northern Pine County.
The board agreed to send the request to Congressman Jim Oberstar’s office during Tuesday’s board meeting.
In a letter issued to Oberstar, the county stated that supplemental support of federal funds is necessary for infrastructure improvements in the county.
The total cost of the project is one million dollars. The project is to improve safety for traffic in and around the Sturgeon and Island lake areas.
If the project is not funded through High Priority Project money, County Coordinator Mark LeBrun says the county will likely apply for federal funds for the project.
