State Trooper Dies From Crash Injuries

A State Trooper from Amery, Wisconsin died Sunday from complications suffered during a vehicle crash while on duty last month.

Jorge Dimas, 23, was found unresponsive at an assisted living facility in Amery.

He was hit by a Ford F-150 while making a U-turn on May 9th, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Department. Dimas suffered a fractured pelvis and lacerations.

Funeral Arrangements have not been announced.

The cause of death is not yet determined.  The Midwest Medical Examiners Office in Ramsey, MN conducted an autopsy Monday.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office along the Amery Police Department and the Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the case.

Dimas began his career with the Wisconsin State Patrol July 20th, 2008.   He graduated in December 2008.
