The East Central Arts Council (ECAC) has funding available and has announced the upcoming grant deadline for ECAC Art Organization Project Grants.  The next ECAC Art Organization Project Grant deadline is July 15, 2009, for community art projects starting after September 15, 2009.

ECAC Art Organization Project Grants are competitive, and are designed to provide financial support (up to $5,000) to art groups (non-profits, units of government, & schools) for art and cultural projects.  There are two grant deadlines per year for this program and they are subject to funding availability.

Applications are encouraged from all artistic disciplines and are awarded on a matching funds basis.  The criteria for this grant program are:  merit and artistic quality; ability of the organization to accomplish the project or program goals; and applicants must demonstrate demand/need for the project or program for the community served.

The East Central Arts Council is a program of the East Central Regional Development Commission. It is an organization for improving the quantity and quality of arts in the region.  This is accomplished primarily through grant-making for organizations and individuals in Region 7E (Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties.)

For more information or get the grant applications contact ECAC by telephone (320) 679-4065 extension 30; by e-mail at    You can also set up a special grant workshop for your organization by contacting us.

This programming is made possible with funding provided by the ECAC and the East Central Regional Development Commission through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature.
