Thauwald Sentenced for Brook Park Shooting
Jeffrey Thauwald, 43, appeared in Pine County Court, Thursday, for sentencing for his involvement in the shooting of Michael Hughes, 31, of Brook Park.
Thauwald was sentenced to 90 days in jail for aid and abet discharge of a firearm and Fifth Degree Assault. The charges are to run concurrent. Thauwald is given credit for time served, which was more than the 90 days. He is now free.
His girlfriend, Connie Kitterman, 44, is serving six years in prison for First Degree Assault charges for the shooting.
In March, Kitterman told the court that the gun she used to shoot Hughes came from Thauwald’s home. The shooting was the result of an argument that turned physical between Hughes and Thauwald, according to testimony given by Kitterman.
