Fur Post May Avoid Shutting Down
The doors at the Northwest Company Fur Post are likely staying wide open. Pine City’s historical site is on the chopping block due to proposed cuts to balance Minnesota’s $4.6 billion deficit. However, the cuts appear to be less than the originally expected 15-percent, according to Minnesota Historical Society Director Nina Archabal. She says even though cuts are inevitable, the Fur Post will likely remain open.
