Unclaimed property includes uncashed paychecks, safety deposit content,  utility refunds, and other financial assets.  Last year, the state treasures office reported that over $28-million dollars in unclaimed property to 25,ooo claimants.   Sass says the state of the economy means more and more people are looking into weather or not they may have unclaimed property.

Sass adds even residents that may think there is no chance they have unclaimed property, should still check as a precaution.
