Pine City Community Education is proud to present its second annual summer theater workshop for junior high students.  This year’s production is “Seussical, Jr.”, an abbreviated version of the Broadway musical featuring everyone’s favorite Dr. Seuss characters and wonderfully silly songs.  Students will take part in daily acting, singing, and dance lessons while putting together one of today’s most popular Broadway musicals.  The workshop will culminate in two public performances of the musical with full costumes, sets, and music.

Songwriters Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life Dr. Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, and all of the Whos of Whoville!  The score ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk.

Directed by Bradley Mariska, the show promises to be an exciting and memorable event, with public performances on June 19 and 20 at 7:00pm at the Rush City High School Auditorium.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students.

The musical so co-sponsored by Pine Center for the Arts and Pine City Heritage Players.  The production is open to any student who is completing grades 6, 7, or 8 and no prior acting experience is required.  Parents should contact Community Education at 629-7331 as soon as possible, since space is limited to the first 35 students who register.
